The “ECODESIGN company” engineering & management consultancy GmbH is an engineering consulting firm founded in 2005, offering a wide range of services in the areas of ecodesign  and in the evaluation of the environmental performance of products and services from various industries, covering all phases from the conception and development, to the integration of products and services into new business models.

The company has ample experience and expertise in conducting Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) according to the international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, and Product Carbon Footprint assessments (PCF) according to ISO 14026. Developing environmental communications and marketing strategies based on environmental information e.g., Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) according to ISO 14025, is another core competence of the company.

The company conducts evaluation of stakeholder requirements, as well as supports innovation processes through life cycle and environmental perspectives, for developing green product concepts, and for building up environmental knowledge for the product development process. The ECODESIGN company delivers customized trainings and workshops on LCA, Ecodesign principles as well as on environmental communications and circular economy business models. It complements its trainings offer with the ECODESIGN+ an own software for Product Carbon Footprint (PCFs) assessments.

The ECODESIGN company is an official member of the Austrian Consultants Association and member of the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations. ECO is leading WP4 “Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), socio-economic assessment (LCC, S-LCA)” Assessment of environmental, economic and social performance. In this WP the environmental, economic and social performance will be assessed and the result will be used to support decision making regarding environmental issues in WP1 “Catalyst Development” and WP2 “CO2 utilisation reaction for DME production, novel proof of concept”.

In this WP ECO also leads the task 4.3. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of CO2Fokus CDU technologies, where LCAs of the synthesis process and the resulting materials are conducted.

Otherwise, ECO will contribute in WP5 “Dissemination, exploitation and communication” where the LCAs are disseminated also at LCA conferences.
